Solar Security Lighting, Like Exterior Solar Lighting, A Great Eco-Friendly Option for Your Home.
Solar Security Lighting, examples being solar walkway lighting, solar post lighting, solar led lighting and others are a first class way of making your home a securer place whilst helping the environment at the same time.
Solar Security Lighting is becoming increasingly popular for homeowners and for commercial use too. This is mainly due to such factors that the light fixtures themselves have become more powerful and dynamic but also due to the fact that they have come down in price and there is pressure put on us all to live more eco-friendly lives. In the photo below you will see a very nice example of a solar powered security light situated on a wall.

How do they Work?
As with all solar powered lighting they work by way of a solar panel situated on the fixture which soaks up the suns rays during the day which charges a battery which in turn powers the light during the evening. Solar post lighting is a subtle form of solar powered lighting that I like, likewise with solar deck lighting and solar walkway lighting too. With some models the solar panel can be detached and located away from the fixture. This option is particularly good if you are locating your solar powered security light in say your garage, or shed perhaps, out of the sun. Motion Sensor Some work by way of a motion sensor which senses when a person is close by which automatically activates the light. Another version is one whereby a sensor on the fixture automatically switches on the light when darkness falls and then switches it off again when daylight is detected. The Advantages of Solar Security Lighting The advantages I am pleased to say are many. - Ease of Installation, No Wiring etc
- Portable, can be moved with ease
- Powered by Sunlight, Cost FREE to run
- Day/Night Sensor, Option
- Motion Detector, Option
- Maintenance free virtually
- 100% Safe to Use
- Eco-Friendly
Do We Really Need Home Security Lighting? It is essential in my humble opinion. The main and obvious reason is to minimise the risk against potential burglars and thieves. Outdoor lighting in general helps make your garden and home exterior a far safer place too. And in some case insurance companies will often offer reduced premiums if they see that a homeowner is doing their best to deter thieves. In the next picture below you will see an exploded view of a delightful solar spotlight.

Technological Advancements
There is no doubt that solar lighting (solar security lighting being no exception), has come on in leaps and bounds in recent years and there are fewer reasons than ever today why one should`nt opt for this category of lighting fixture. The actual look, sleek designs, and their attractive nature, as well as the inbuilt capabilities of these marvellous fixtures has also evolved incredibly well so much so that they are really a very viable choice when it comes to outdoor security lighting. Increasing Popularity Proof of how Solar Lighting has come on recently is how commonplace they are, being used in fact by all manner of commercial outfits, by Governments, being used for such things as street lighting, illuminating airports and many, many more fine examples of how solar lighting is deployed today. Solar Powered Floodlights Solar powered floodlights are usually used in commercial premises due to the fact that the light emitted is usually very bright, but more toned down versions can be purchased for the residential market which are more neighbour friendly shall we say than their commercial counterparts. Reduction in Prices Cheap solar lighting can be picked up you may be surprised to hear quite easily nowadays so one does`nt have to pay through the nose for solar security lighting with all its many plus points:-). How Many Solar Security Lights Will I Need? Much depends on the size of your property, your garden and exterior, but another important factor is how close your neighbors properties are in relation to your property. Glaring or over-bright lights can be really annoying at night especially when you are trying to get to sleep so please bear this in mind when deciding on your outdoor lighting layout. Your lighting retailer will best be able to advise you with regard to this so don`t be afraid to ask he or she any questions you might have that would help to make things run as smoothly as possible:-).
