Gone are the days when the average office was illuminated by a simple set of fluorescent ceiling strip lights. These days all manner of lights are utilized as workplace lighting which is a very good thing, as having a good atmosphere to work in is better for both employers and employees alike.

Depending on the size of ones office as with most lighting layouts it is best if you can to diversify and to have different types of lighting fixtures in your office.

Modern office lights come in many designs and styles, no different in many ways to modern home lighting. Home office lighting is used in the home quite frequently nowadays, because more people work from home running small businesses so only the best office lighting will do in those instances and again they need to be multi-purpose: Solving a Purpose and Pleasing to the Eye.

Office Plan Lighting

A good place to start is with office ceiling lights. Once again depending on the size of ones office one or two nice pendant lights are very appealing but spotlights are also much recommend because they are adaptable and directional, which means if you move your office around which often occurs in the workplace then your lights (in this case spotlights) can “move with you.”

Modern office lamps such as a lovely adjustable modern table lamp not only make your workplace more comfortable but they give you that “sense of home” feeling too, the idea being that the happier and more content you are whilst at work the better you will work and your workload will be.

In the Photograph Below you will see a mix of Recessed Lighting, Track Lighting and half-in shot a Pendant Light (left of the bottom of the photo). By mixing and matching the fixtures this ensures that not only will they look nice but they will do a great job of illuminating the office space as intended.

This is the modern way of doing things as not too many years ago the office was merely a place for "completing tasks in" so the last thing on the list when it came to planning the layout of ones office, was lighting for offices.

Other important factors come into play where it comes to lighting offices such as things like computers. Computers need a particular kind of light to avoid glare that is why adjustable lighting such as spotlights are very good in those circumstances. Lights with anti-glare shields are also very good to use to solve that purpose too and are now quite commonplace in the contemporary office.

Many modern office utilize lighting control such as dimmers and lighting sensors. The kind of which that switch on or off automatically at a selected time. This can also save a small fortune on ones lighting and energy bill, and as with lighting in the modern home is a very good habit to get into if you can.

Plan your office lighting carefully with your workforce uppermost in your mind and choosing your office lamps should be a breeze.
