There are many different styles of this type of Fixture on the market today, literally hundreds. All manner of shapes and sizes, both large, small, and somewhere in between it has to be said, and in a multitude of colors.

Because there is such a wide variety available one can almost guarantee that there will be something that will match the décor of your room, whether it be your kitchen, lounge, hallway and so on..

In the second photograph below you will see a Modern Glass version with pretty swirling colors. Something like this would grace any kitchen and would look great as a single pendant or in multiples of 2, 3, or 4, or as Pendant Track Lighting.

Some Modern Pendant Lighting is also adjustable which is very handy for rooms such as the kitchen where you might want to adjust the level of light or change the scenery slightly.

Of course You can also use a dimmer switch to alter the light-level and change the “ambience” which I would definitely recommend where feasible and budget permits.

In the final photo below two Modern Pendant Lighting Fixtures hang just above a kitchen worktop. As you can see they hang quite low but if they were the adjustable type they could be raised and hooked up to set the mood one wants to create. For preparing food for example you will need a more intense, stronger light, so the lower level would be best, as in the photo.

As mentioned previously there are many different designs on the market where these Lighting Fixtures are concerned, from Ceramic Fixtures, to Gorgeous Alabaster.

Colored glass is another very pretty type that I like very much with a plethora of shapes both weird and wonderful to choose from. One thing to note is that Alabaster can be quite expensive so colored glass might be the more cost effective option.
