Powered by the sun (as with all fixtures in the same family), such as solar pathway lighting, solar step lighting, solar led lighting and others, they are terrific little lighting fixtures which are also excellent for the environment. Floating Solar Lights These are so called because they are placed on the water (usually in a pool) where they float and give off a beautiful “glow effect” in the water. Solar Walkway lighting does a great job of highlighting areas around your walkway or garden pathway. Once again solar led lighting is great to use for this as there an abundance of different styles available and they are dead simple to install.. you simply stick them into the earth:-). Depending on the length of your walkway space them at roughly 4 –5 ft intervals either side of your walkway. This will not only make your walkway safer to walk at night but it will illuminate the flowers and shrubbery giving them a beautiful hue and glowing-effect at night. Solar Lamp Post Lighting Solar Lamp Post lighting is another form of decorative solar lighting you can use to bring added charm and appeal to your home exterior.. They come in many designs and colors in their own right and the good thing about them is that you only need one, maybe two at a push, to make a big difference to your outdoor lighting layout. For best results place one at the beginning of your walkway and one at the end. For novelty value, disguised solar lighting in the shape of say a duck (as in the photo below) is a great way of adding a unique look to your garden. Kids absolutely love these type of lights and if you are blessed to have children the smile you will bring to their faces will be worth its weight in gold if you choose this type of fixture..
