Commercial Outdoor Lighting, Why Is Led Outdoor Lighting Now So Popular?

Commercial Outdoor Lighting helps us tremendously in our busy lives as we go about our varied business activities. From a simple common or garden desk lamp to a complete city full of ultra-modern led lamp post lights. There is no doubt, all forms of commercial lighting, whether it be big or small, is a vital component for we humans.

As with most forms of lighting fixtures with commercial outdoor lights there`s an abundance of models available. From a basically simple outdoor wall light to state of the art led street lighting the list is quite long.

Led Lights

Led outdoor lighting is being used increasingly around the world because it has become a more viable option compared to its rivals, for instance halogen lighting.

Governments globally are now turning to models like led street lighting because the LED light bulb is so well equipped, perfectly made in fact for use as outdoor lighting that it simply can`t be ignored any longer.

In the first picture below is a modern led outdoor lighting fixture.

Security Lighting

Outdoor Security Lighting is also commonly found as outdoor commercial lighting. Models like led flood lights are excellent for bringing security as well as safety to business premises but again there are plenty of options on the market to choose from.

Much will depend on the size of your business premises. Obviously a small motor repair shop won`t need as many lighting fixtures as say a large warehouse but a good tip is to check out other business premises and see how they have personally set-up their commercial outdoor lighting.

Planning Ahead

Apart from knowing “how many” fixtures you will need you will also need to know the “type required.” Will you want motion sensor flood lights for example or ones that work on timers perhaps? Dawn to dusk is another fine example.

By checking out other commercial premises and their outdoor lighting arrangements you will get a very good idea of how many fixtures you will need, and of equal importance, the type you will need too.

Solar Lamp Post Lighting as seen beautifully in the picture below is also now being increasingly used by businesses. Solar energy being completely free of charge takes some beating and this wonderful FREE power/energy source is being harnessed and used more and more.

Architectural Lighting illuminates key areas of buildings making them stand out beautifully for all to see. A fine balance is required otherwise too little or too much light will be thrown over the area concerned and seemingly minor things like having lighting fixtures pointing slightly the wrong way can make the difference between a successful lighting set-up to a complete eyesore.

Commercial Outdoor Lighting is`nt only used for security reasons. It is also used to highlight things like advertising hoardings or billboards and features of building as seen in the stunning photo below. Large neon signs do a great job of advertising company`s names and logos but where would they be without the humble little old light bulb to illuminate them all at night:-)

Listed below are some terms used for this category of lighting fixture:-

  • Low Voltage Lighting
  • Decorative Outdoor Lighting
  • Commercial Christmas Lights
  • Bollard Lights
  • Outdoor Party Lights
  • Commercial Landscape Lighting

Outdoor lights be they residential or commercial for that matter should have two definite purposes. The “security” aspect is one and the other is “aesthetics.” The lighting fixture should look attractive as well as to add security to your business or home.

If you can achieve both of these important values you can give yourself a very hearty pat on the back and I wish you the very best of luck in your endeavours:-).
