Art Deco Chandeliers, Crafted by Artists from a Wonderful Bygone Era.Art Deco Chandeliers , art deco lamps and art deco lighting fixtures in general are one of the most artistic and beautiful forms of lighting fixtures that exist. Originals Can Be Costly Original pieces can command many hundreds or even thousands of dollars depending on their condition and rarity but when you own one of these delightful lighting fixtures you will never look back. Many people have become collectors after purchasing their first one and is`nt hard to see why as these exquisite lighting fixtures are so endearing and so easy to fall in love withJ. As mentioned these delightful artifacts come in many different styles and designs. Search for Designers If on your travels (on or off of the internet:-) you come across an original art deco chandelier by any of the above distinguished designer-artistes I am sure that you will be presented with something of beauty something very desirable and something that goes way beyond being merely a lighting fixture made to illuminate a room. “Their Sum Is Much Greater Than Their Parts..” as in for example a Van Gough Painting:-). When it comes to the materials that original models of these beautiful lighting fixtures are made of there are quite a number of variables including the following. Chrome, Nickel, Brass and Wrought Iron, Steel but also Wood which was a surprising inclusion. The Shades include Murano Glass, Frosted Glass, Silk Shades, Opalescent Glass Bowls, Enamel Bowls and Shades and many more. Beware of Fakes Sold as Originals If you do decide to buy an original model It is advisable to purchase your chandelier from a reputable dealer as there are a lot of fakes and imitations out there. Do ensure also that you have your chandelier insured and take plenty of photos of it. Make sure that you get a receipt fromyour dealer and also a certificate of authenticity so that you know that what you have spent your hard earned cash on is the real thing and not some an inferior copy. Finally, there is no doubt that the art deco period produced some wonderful works of art in so many fields, not just lighting, of which we derive so much pleasure and enjoyment from today. The great thing is that there is something for everyone when it comes to the price of these beautiful obects d`art, and something to suit everyone`s budget, no mater how big or how small.
