Vanity Lighting, How to use them and places to buy them at reduced prices

The sole purpose of Vanity Lighting is to illuminate your bathroom-mirror so that you can safely and competently undertake grooming activities such as shaving or applying make-up.

It can be set behind your bathroom mirror but usually the fixture will be fixed either above or to the side of the bathroom mirror.

This type of fixture can also be found installed in furniture such as wardrobes, dressing tables, anywhere in fact where a person might groom themselves or brush their hair.

There are varying terminologies used for this lighting, some examples of which can be found below:-

  • Vanity Fixtures
  • Vanity Lamps
  • Modern Bathroom Lighting
  • Bathroom-Vanity-Lighting

A friendly tip is to install your lights either side (not above and below) of your mirror. This will help to minimize shadows in my experience and will make your grooming experience so much more pleasant and uneventful.

Some folks purchase bathroom cabinets that have their mirrors built-in. These are quite good but can be costly so this needs to be weighed up when deciding on which type to go for.

A better option is to perhaps buy your Vanity-Lighting separately as it will probably work out more cost-effective in the long run.

As mentioned, where this type of fixture is concerned, there are limitations as to where you can put them so stick with the tried and tested methods and you won`t go far wrong.
