Car Light Bulbs or Auto Light Bulbs should never be overlooked if you want to drive in safety.

Car light bulbs, led car bulbs, indicator lights, tail lights, halogen headlamp bulbs and others such as brake light bulbs are essential for the modern day driving experience. Drivers, be they young or old, should ensure that they pay great care and attention to their vehicle`s lighting.

In poor lighting conditions it is an unfortunate but true fact that accidents can occur and if your car lights are`nt up to scratch then this could be hazardous to your driving so as you can see checking that your car light bulbs work regularly is a very good habit to get into..

  • Cleaning
  • Try to ensure that your car`s lights are kept clean at all times. The lights and windows of your car are the two most important areas of your vehicle when it comes to visibility and safe driving so it pays to get into good habits. A good catchphrase to remember is:

"Want to be seen.. then keep them clean."

  • Check Lights

Periodically, say once every week, ask a friend or relative to check your car lights front and rear. If a friend isn`t available another good way is to reverse your car slowly to a wall (or garage door etc) so that your car`s rear is a few feet away, and check your rear light bulbs that way. Do the same for the front and everything should be fine.

Switch on your lights and go through their various positions: 1/ sidelights 2/ dipped beam 3/ full beam 4/ foglights and 5/ indicators.

If a bulb has blown make sure that you purchase a replacement bulb and fit it as soon as you can. By not doing so immediately you may forget and drive your car under potentially dangerous conditions and become a hazard not only to yourself but to other drivers too.

If you can it is a very good idea to carry some spares in your vehicle so that you can remedy the situation on-the-spot and replace the offending bulb or bulbs in a timely fashion.

  • Bulb Types
  • Xenon Light Bulbs are a good choice simply because the light given off from this type of bulb imitates natural light so there is less chance of "Dazzle" or "Glare" during night time driving or during the day when visibility is poor and your lights need to be on.

Led Auto Light Bulbs are also an excellent choice mainly because they are very robust and can withstand constant switching "on-and-off" which of course is a regularity when it comes to car light bulbs.

  • Fuses
  • If you replace a bulb, led bulb replacmeent for instance, and the new bulb does`nt work it is most likely due to a fuse being blown. Check your car manual and it should direct you to where your vehicle`s fuse box is located.

After checking the fuses replace any that are blown and you should find that the bulb will now work. If a bulb and/or fuse blows repeatedly there is probably a short somewhere in the electrical circuitry of your vehicle so it is advisable to get a car electrician to check the vehicle over to find out where the fault is. Please note that the above information can also apply to truck light bulbs too not only light bulbs for cars.

    Happy Lightbulbing Folks!
