The downside, if there is one, of Reproduction (Repro), whether it comes to lighting or any other forms for that matter is that they are only copies so the quality and the appearance in many instances won`t be as good as the real thing but they are an excellent substitute and are usually no more expensive than contemporary lighting. For example a repro fixture that has say a 24Kt Gold finish won`t look as good in my opinion as say a nice fixture finished in antique brass or bronze.
